Fruit and flaxseed smoothie recipe (2 of your 5 a day and contains nutrient rich ingredients including flaxseed and milk)
Ingredients
Serves: 1
- 1 frozen, pre-peeled banana (an ideal way to use up bananas that are past their best – just peel, cut into chunks and freeze)
- 125g frozen berries
- 2 tablespoons milled/ground flaxseed (linseed)
- 250ml milk, or dairy-free milk alternative, such as soya (fortified with calcium if dairy-free alternative used)
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
Place all the ingredients in the blender and blitz until smooth! Great as part of a nutritious breakfast.
