5 ways to enjoy a summer staycation in the garden

Camp out in the garden

Whether you’re a complete beginner or have been camping for years, camping in the garden is tonnes of fun for the whole family! You get to spend some quality time together, whilst having access to all your favourite home comforts. You could even do some stargazing, sing some campfire songs, and share some stories.

Stage a Festival

Invite your friends over and enjoy a small festival in your garden. You can pitch a tent, pop out some deck chairs or even just lay some blankets and cushions on the floor. Create a festival vibe with some bunting or streamers, hang up paper lanterns or string fairy lights up everywhere for the perfect evening atmosphere. You could also try getting creative with face paint for the little ones and set up a photo booth with fancy dress items for some fun memories. Of course, a festival is nothing without music! Blast out your favourite festival tunes or perhaps have some karaoke as the evening starts…

Host an outdoor movie night

The summer is the perfect time to watch a movie outdoors. Gather some cosy seating options, blankets and some atmospheric lighting to set the tone. You don’t need to spend loads on a screen using a simple white wall or white fabric will work just as well. You will need to purchase a projector (there are some reasonable ones online) but the good news is once you have one you can host outdoor movie nights again and again!

Have a Picnic

Get some of your favourite foodie treats and enjoy a picnic in your garden. To make it feel more special you could add bunting or fairy lights and of course a beautiful picnic basket. Make sure you have something comfy to sit on too!

Have some water fun!

There’s nothing better than the feeling of fresh cool water on a hot summer’s day and it provides great entertainment for the kids too! Whether it’s playing water balloon dodgeball, running through the sprinklers or enjoying a dip in the paddling pool, there’s plenty of fun to be had in the garden.
